Damaged
The Transformation – Day 3
Well, a bit more done today with the 24v. The body kit has now been offered up to the car to see how it all fits, doesn’t look to bad. Tomorrow, Day 4. The side skirts will be Tiger sealed to the sides after they have all been cleaned up and all the old fixing solution ground off.
I think the front bumper will get a coat of paint tomorrow just to see how it looks. (The 4 spot lights will be removed too) Work has now also started on the very bad bodywork, smoothing out all the dents along the sides. and on the sunroof. The next job will be the bonnet as it has been badly painted before.
This will then be removed, prepared then painted. I am also going to change all the rear lights for the smoked black ones and also fit the American headlamp covers (Pic 7) which will look so much better than having the infills there.
Crunched
After picking up my Ford Probe from Dave (Pincher) I enjoyed a real nice comfortable drive all the way back to Luton, trying everything out, seeing what worked and what didn’t. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it drove and handled. Arrived back home and parked my new toy on the drive and locked it. (Left in reverse gear) 10 minutes later I came out and pressed the button on the Hawk remote only to find I pressed the wrong button and instead of opening the doors it tried starting and shot backwards hitting the edge of my truck parked on the road. Ouch !!! Dented the the rear drivers side wing, smashed the lights and scraped the rear bumper. Was I gutted or what. Big lesson here, do not leave the darn thing in any gear. ![]()
